Looks cool that's about it. February 10, 2010 C. Pompeo (Naperville, IL USA) My son is 5 and has quite a few Transformers and lately the ones he has gotten are all falling apart. This is not due to him playing to rough, as I too have problems keeping them together when I transform them. Pieces pop off constantly. This one is really cool looking but the propellers fall off, both black leg pieces fell off and the one of the hand covers as well as some other piece we can't figure out what it is. This generally does not effect the play of this toy however it would be nice to have it all in one piece!
My Second Favorite Movie Figure July 29, 2009 Next to Deep Desert Brawl this is my favorite transformer in the movie line. I like that he's modeled after a real helicopter. Blackout's transformation is complicated and it takes at minimum 22 minutes to transform. There's a button that you push to make the blades spin. One thing that surprised me that he doesn't have any missles. I mean his charecter simply loves his cannons. He's also very short in robot mode. In the movie he's anything but short. I also like how his blades become a bizarre bladed weapon. The mini-scorponok doesn't transform but can be ejected just like he is in the movie. Ages 11 and up. Transformation is difficult and the worm-eaten look to his face might freak those under four years of age.
Excellent! November 2, 2008 Shaun Strickland Honestly one of the best Transformers of this series... Its transformation from being a helicopter to being in the robot form look great. The challenge of transforming this one is probably on the low side of all of them as I found it quiet easy. The only part that I wish he could have better use of is his blades like he didin the movie. It can detach and be used as a weapon, but its bulky and does not sit well on his arm.
Not Bad June 25, 2008 Thomas Beres (Port Ludlow) I just got the blackout/scorpanok desert attack combo and its great.
I will start with the Pros
1. blackouts MH-53 Pavelow Helicopter is really aqurate
2. just Plain Cool!
Cons
1. I dont like that in robot mode that blackout has that huge tail peice on the back it kinda getts in the way. other than that pretty good!
Voyager Class Blackout April 26, 2008 A. Iverson (Spokane, Washington, USA) First off, blackout is a very cool transformer - he is at least 8 inches tall! Plus, he has an awesome, true-to-the-movie head. His back propeller can come off to form a rotating attack blade which he can hold. Plus, with the bonus Scorponok mini figure, this makes this toy great for imaginative play. More durable than Voyager Class Starscream, but still could use some improvements (his rotors come off pretty easily).
Okay, now here are the bad things about this toy: First off, what's up with his feet? You Call those Blackout's Feet!? Second off, his shoulders are very hard to move into position when transforming him into Robot form.
But those are the only flaws!
If you don't mind tough transformations, this is the transformer for you!
